A self-styled "knuckle dragging ops man" from Sprint Corp. (NYSE: FON) prefers the television show The Weakest Link to watching overfed senators grill WorldCom Inc. (OTC: WCOEQ) executives on C-Span.

Those are the latest results from Light Reading's new informal spot poll, On The Phone, in which senior editor Phil Harvey surfs his handset for spontaneous, unfiltered interviews, preferably out of sight of corporate PR mavens.

This week's On the Phone, featuring an interview with David J. Flessas, VP of Network Operations for Sprint, examines such crucial issues as Sonet restoration and the Marx Brothers. Check it out at: David J. Flessas.

On The Phone will reside, for now, in the lower right-hand corner of the Light Reading home page. Yes, we know you don't go there often. That's why we're reminding you.
