ON Telecoms launches IPTV services in Greece, powered by BitBand's video delivery gear

NETANYA, Israel -- BitBand, a leading provider of video delivery solutions for broadband IP networks, announced today that the Greek operator, ON Telecoms, has selected BitBand for the deployment of the first IPTV services in Greece. The services were launched in the Athens area on January 24, 2007.

ON Telecoms is an innovative telecommunications provider operating a metropolitan fiber network in the Athens area, on which advanced triple play services are delivered. Within the triple play offering, ON Telecoms' aim is to introduce next generation TV and video services, offering its customers a wide array of entertainment packages. BitBand's solution enables ON Telecoms to deliver Catch-up TV, NPVR, VOD and other On Demand services, utilizing BitBand's MaestroT Content Distribution and Management suite and the BitBand VisionT servers streaming the video content on demand to subscribers.
