CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- OmniGuide Communications, Inc., a company developing hollow-core photonic bandgap fibers and components, today announced that Dr. Jim Goell has joined the company as its Vice President of Engineering.Dr. Goell has extensive experience in fiber optics, integrated optics and microwaves both as a manager and as a technical contributor. His prior positions include Managing Director of Program Management, Tyco Telecommunications Development Laboratory; Director of Engineering, Tyco Electronics Netconnect Products Division; President, Lightwave Communications and VP of Engineering, ITT Electro-Optical Products Division. He started his career in the Millimeter Wave Repeater Research Department, Bell Laboratories and earned a Ph.D. in microwaves from Cornell University.
