REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Olympus Microsystems America, Inc., developer of MEMS-based wavelength selective switches for the optical communications industry, announced the move to new offices in the San Francisco, California and Atlanta, Georgia areas. The move resulted from the need to increase research and development, design, and prototyping facilities for its new lines of optical switching products. Headquarters for Olympus Microsystems America, Inc. operations are now located at 333 Twin Dolphin Road, Redwood City, CA, while the R&D Center has moved to 3139 Campus Drive, Norcross, GA. Volume manufacturing continues to take place at the Olympus MEMS and optical facilities in Japan.

"Olympus Microsystems America was established in April 2006 with the development of a wavelength selective switch for use in reconfigurable optical add drop multiplexer (ROADM) networks," said Olympus Microsystems America, Inc. president Lawrence Wang. "The growth of our engineering and support staff and the ramp-up for our new products required newer and larger facilities to increase the efficiency of our operation. We are excited to have found such excellent locations."
