TOKYO -- Corrigent Systems, a leading provider of Packet ADM (Add Drop Multiplexer) for next-generation transport networks, announced today that Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd., will resell the CM-100 product in Japan. The Japanese market is leading the world in the migration to all-IP service provider networks. Demand for the CM-100 Packet ADM which enables the migration to this all-IP network is growing. This new relationship is expected to further address this demand.

Oki is a global Japanese telecommunication equipment vendor and has deep experience and excellent know-how with sales and support to service providers. Oki brings to Corrigent significant deployment experience, and Corrigent expects this new partnership to enable even stronger in-country customer support. With the addition of Oki, Corrigent has now three resellers in Japan.

Oki and Corrigent expect the Packet ADM to accelerate the shift to all-IP networks in Japan by leveraging RPR and MPLS-based technologies in the CM-100 transport platform. RPR supports the service quality and reliability required for new IP services offered by carriers.

Corrigent's Packet ADM provides the basis for a national Triple Play IP network for KDDI, Japan's second-largest service provider. The CM-100 meets the challenging needs of carriers requiring large intelligent transmission networks. These networks must guarantee high performance voice and video applications while efficiently aggregating lower priority traffic. The CM-100 provides transport, at the core metro network, for any combination of triple play, Ethernet, and mobile traffic, making it a key component of the converged packet-optimized network.

Akio Ogiso, President of Corrigent Systems KK, said, "I am very pleased with the partnership with Oki which will expand the sales channel of our market-leading CM-100 Packet ADM and will contribute to improved customer support. With the support of Oki, we expect to increase our success and reinforce our leading position in this rapidly growing market."
