OFS files suit against FiberCore, charging infringement of several patents related to optical fiber technology, including PMD reduction

ATLANTA -- Fitel USA Corp., the parent company of OFS, designer, manufacturer, and supplier of leading edge fiber optic products, today announced that it has filed suit against FiberCore, Inc. [NASDAQ: FBCE] in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. The suit charges infringement of patents covering a number of optical fiber technologies, including technologies relating to the reduction of polarization mode dispersion, and seeks an injunction barring further use of the patented technologies.OFS President and CEO Eddie Edwards commented that “Our company has invested heavily in technology to enable us to produce the finest products on the market.
