MONTREAL -- Octasic Inc., a fabless semiconductor vendor delivering innovative silicon solutions for the telecommunications infrastructure market, today announced that it has partnered with PowerCOM Inc., Korea's leading semiconductor distributor.

Octasic's specialized unique products include the OCT6100 Series of echo cancellation and voice quality enhancement chips, which support from 128 to 672 voice channels in a single chip; the OCT8304, a 1023 channel full-duplex packetization engine for VoIP and VoAAL2 applications; and the OCT7102, a 255 channel ADPCM compression device. Additionally, to speed time-to-market and reduce customers' development costs Octasic is now offering complete modules based on its devices. The first offering is the OCT9600 Series of voice processing PTMC modules, which support from 256 to 4032 channels with a full range of echo cancellation, voice quality enhancement and ADPCM compression functions. These modules can be integrated directly or provide the basis for reference designs produced by the customer.
