NTT to Deploy CoSine IP Platform
NTT Communications, an international telecommunications carrier reaching over 200 countries worldwide, will provide an international, network-based VPN service that secures select corporate customers' IP traffic between NTT Communication's Japanese network via its Tokyo Point of Presence (POP) and other locations throughout the world. NTT Communications' IPSec-based VPN service provides business customers secure international IP transport without the operational and maintenance costs associated with VPNs built using equipment that resides at the customer location. Instead of requiring an array of devices located at subscriber sites all around the world, CoSine's platform will provide VPN and IP services from within NTT Communications' POPs, where they can be centrally managed and supported by the Service Provider.
"NTT Communications' purchase of CoSine's solution is a validation of the network-based platform strategy and demonstrates their leadership in recognizing that value-added IP services are a strategic business tool for Service Providers in today's Internet-driven economy," said Dean Hamilton, president and chief executive officer of CoSine. "The CoSine platform enables Service Providers like NTT Communications to leverage their global network to provide value-added IP services that complement their existing portfolio of voice and data services. NTT Communications is essentially creating one-stop shopping for enterprises that want to leverage the Internet to conduct business all over the world."
