NTP Rides Again

3:20 PM -- Blimey, it must be tiring to be part of the legal department at NTP Software Inc. The technology-licensing company has let loose its legal eagles once again this week, suing U.S. carriers AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), Sprint Corp. (NYSE: S), and Verizon Wireless over alleged patent infringements in their mobile email offerings.

NTP is probably best known for legal action against Canadian device mavens BlackBerry , but it's also taken on Palm Inc. and others. As far as I can tell, however, going after the carriers is a new twist. (See NTP Takes Another Shot.)

re: NTP Rides Again All right, carriers are using stuff that is sold to them from RIM.

But wasn't RIM's rights to usage of technology and patents agreed on some terms with the very NTP now sueing?

On which grounds?
