Jenks has had extensive experience in laser photonics both as former president of Uniphase Lasers and Fiber Optics and former chairman of Oplink Communications, a position from which he recently resigned. Jenks has been a member of the Novalux board of directors since February 1999, and has been an advisor to the Company from its inception.“Ian is an excellent candidate to lead Novalux through this chaotic market situation,” quoted Thompson. “His previous executive experience, along with the strong senior management team, will ensure the transition is smooth for our customers and our partners. The board and I have decided it is the right time to inject new ideas into the Company. I have been going non-stop for three years and am looking forward to taking some time off.” Thompson will continue to serve on Novalux’s technical advisory board.“The board of directors is extremely grateful to Malcolm for his strong leadership and the superior organization he built at Novalux,” noted Jenks. “I am looking forward to taking Novalux on to the next level.
