Kanal D, a leading Turkish TV station deployed convergence solutions from Nortel Networks

ISTANBUL -- Kanal D, one of the leading TV stations in Turkey and part of Doðan Media Group, has converged its communications infrastructure encompassing voice and data networks using Nortel Networks* [NYSE/TSX: NT] solutions. The solution has been implemented by Nortel Networks Netaþ partners MERPA Ýletiþim and Vis Veri Ýletiþim Sistemleri.

Kanal D has deployed Nortel Networks Passport* 8600 for the Gigabit Ethernet backbone and BayStack* BPS (Business Policy Switch) for the 10/100 Ethernet subscriber connections throughout its network.

Kanal D’s converged network now supports voice, data and video transmission and related applications over a single high-performance and highly resilient network. The network was built to facilitate future Convergence applications including video conferencing, IP Telephony, voice over Wireless LAN (VoWLAN), unified messaging and multi-media conferencing.
