Nokia's Flagship E7 Delayed in the UK?

Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) may be experiencing further delays with its flagship E7 handset, according to a JP.MorganChase research note and reports out of the U.K.

JP Morgan analyst Rod Hall writes in a note Thursday:

Nokia E7 Delayed Until April in the UK (NOK: Neutral): Expansys has changed the release date of the Nokia E7 on its site to April 12th and Play is reporting it will launch on March 21st. (3G.co.uk) Our View: The phone is still available for pre-order in countries such as Finland and Indonesia with an expected delivery date of February.

Why this matters
New Nokia CEO Stephen Elop noted the need for the vendor to ensure consistent delivery of its products on the company's fourth-quarter conference call. The E7 was originally slated to be available in the fourth quarter and then pushed to the first quarter. Meanwhile, the smartphone maker saw its market share drop to 31 percent in the fourth quarter, down from 40 percent the year before, thanks to the iPhone and the rise of Android phones.
