NMS Communications CFO Bob Hult will leave October 15, 2003 and ensure transition with new CFO; search underway

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- NMS Communications (Nasdaq: NMSS), trusted supplier of communications products and services, today announced that Bob Hult, senior vice president Finance and Operations and chief financial officer, will retire from NMS on October 15, 2003. He will exercise full responsibility and provide transition until a new CFO joins NMS Communications. "Bob's contributions and guidance have created a culture of financial discipline that is focal to the Company's operations, and have helped NMS Communications build a world class supply chain. During his five years as SVP of Finance and Operations, Bob has helped shape the Company's strategy of new offerings aimed at the wireless markets, and he has been instrumental in achieving the strong asset management we enjoy," said Bob Schechter, chief executive officer of NMS Communications. "It has been an extraordinary five years working with a group of people that I respect and enjoy. I want to thank Bob Schechter, our employees, the finance and operations teams and the Board of Directors for this time. After 30 years in technology, it is a natural career evolution to now focus my efforts at board level and special situations advisor opportunities. Although there is never a perfect time to leave a job that you enjoy, NMS Communications' strategy, balance sheet and overall financial position are strong, so I can make this change now and be able to watch the company move to the next level. I will continue to be highly involved on a day-to-day basis until the new CFO is fully in place," said Hult. The search for Mr. Hult's successor is currently underway. NMS Communications Corp.
