Vendors Tell Small Carriers How to Go VirtualI would like to point out certain challenges related to virtualization of small cell:
1) If we split the Remote small cell and centralized function at MAC and upper layers, the chipset vendors alignment to just provide a low capacity SoC, where just PHY and MAC (Partial) can run is not visible.
2) For centralized function (Combined Base band processing), there are not many SoC available for this function, except you go for a high capacity NW processing chipset.
3) NFV environment for this kind of need also needs to be customized.
I hope industry take this opportunity and builds a complete environment in real-time telco domain.
