7 Service Providers Tap Accedian for vCPE

MONTREAL — Accedian Networks today announced the deployment of its SkyLIGHT VCX platform across seven global service provider networks. The network function virtualization (NFV)-powered virtual customer premises equipment (vCPE) solution enables service providers to assure performance of hybrid cloud connections while reducing hardware and operating costs and most importantly, driving data center access revenue. The solution’s story was also unveiled today in a candid behind the scenes video, showing how VCX was created from Accedian DNA, distilling 10 years of innovation into NFV technology that now powers the company’s “bite-sized” programmable hardware modules.
A total of seven global service providers are utilizing Accedian’s vCPE solution in production environments as part of their NFV strategy, including four mobile operators in Asia, Europe and the Middle East; also deployed in North America by two of the largest multi-service cable operators (MSOs) and a Tier-1 wireline carrier.
“As Gartner has reported, more than 70 percent of Fortune 500 companies have shifted in-house IT infrastructures to public and private data centers, and the ability for service providers to continue to deliver the highest quality of service levels through reliable and cost effective measures is paramount,” stated Accedian Founder, President, and CEO, Patrick Ostiguy. “Our vCPE solution, combining the SkyLIGHT VCX and our miniaturized performance modules, fully addresses this need. It gives our customers the ability to support services over increasingly complex and hybrid environments, while simultaneously opening up new revenue opportunities with performance-differentiated services."
