Nexion's global network gains control with Network Electronics' router system

TOKYO -- Nexion, a broadband company based in Tokyo that has built a global fiber-optic network using telecommunications and broadcasting, has taken delivery of a Network Electronics' sophisticated router system comprised of varied VikinX" router configurations all controlled by Network Electronics' THOR Router Management System. The purchase was announced by Mr. Masato Saito, CEO of Network Electronics, Japan. Network Electronics ASA (Oslo OTC:NETW), based in Sandefjord, Norway, is the manufacturer of VikinX", a compact and affordable router range, flashlink", a versatile, cost-effective optical transport platform, and ConQuer", signal processing products. Nexion, the first video transmission service company in Japan, was established to address the increase in video content transmission of image data files. Using a fiber-optic submarine cable network, a domestic backhaul and backbone network, and a city-ring network, including a state-of-the-art facility customized for video images, Nexion provides premium video transmission services all over the world. Nexion selected the routers for six of its ten globally dispersed switching centers.
