PARIS -- Nexans, the worldwide leader in the cable industry, has launched a new series of cables - the NCX cable range - designed to meet the miniaturisation and high-speed requirements for STM1 connections between switching and transmission equipment. The NCX cables are capable of supporting voice, internet, video and all data transmission at rates of up to 155 Mbit/s. The cables offer better performance than the current standard, despite their reduced diameter (3.6 mm), with the maximum cable length extended to 110 meters rather than the current 90 meters required for the correct transfer of data. The new range of cables will be targeted at telecommunications operators, equipment manufacturers, installation and distribution companies. "The new range of NCX cables will provide our customers with a more efficient means of data transfer than the current standard, "said Pascal Portevin, President Telecom Division, Nexans, "and will reinforce Nexans' reputation as a cutting edge company in the cabling industry." The NCX cables will be manufactured in several versions, mono *1, multi * 4, 8, and 16, at the Nexans Fumay facility, France. Nexans
