Networld+Interop Becomes Interop

11 AM -- From this morning's PR pile:

NetWorld+Interop 2005, produced by MediaLive International Inc., announced today that to reflect the shift in the IT infrastructure industry towards IP convergence, the event has been renamed Interop.

I guess my suggested new name of "NetWorld+Interop+VOIP+Collaboration+Mobility+Security2005 Conference and Exhibition Trade Show Expo" wasn't taken seriously.

Fine.

USTA and IEC broke up over there sponsoring of Supercomm last year. There was a press release on this. If you search around, I am sure you can find it. This is not an April Fools joke.

"LAST Supercomm ever ? !!
what did I miss...??"

Nothing, it's just that to more accurately represent the state of the market and to come line with Sarbanes Oxley disclosure requirements they must start calling it "Prettydecentbutnoforwardguidancecomm" next year.

Since it's renamed Interop, can it be moved back to the Muscone Center? While they're at it, can't they also ban anybody who is wearing a suit? I miss the old days where tee shirt, jeans, birkenstocks, and a pony tail were the dress code.
