KÖLN, Germany -- Early next year guests at Lufthansa Senator Lounges at Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and New York will be able to enjoy high-speed Internet access. As part of a strategic marketing partnership Lufthansa and Vodafone D2 will offer business travellers the opportunity to convert their notebook or PDA into a mobile, high-speed office at any of the 55 Lufthansa Lounges at 30 airports worldwide. This component will also be seamlessly integrated into the broadband Internet network on board, so that the same equipment can also be used without any need to change the configuration. On 15 January Lufthansa will become the world's first airline to offer in-flight Internet connectivity when it launches its three-month trial phase on a Boeing 747-400 jet on the Frankfurt-Washington route. "We are constantly refining our Lounge product, and with the new, high-speed, wireless Internet access we are offering a technologically optimal service component," says Thomas Sattelberger, Senior Vice President Product and Service at Lufthansa German Airlines. "Business travellers can thus use the transfer time at the airport extremely productively and in a pleasant atmosphere." D2 Vodafone
