NEW YORK -- Scanbuy, a global leader in mobile 2D barcode and marketing solutions, announced today that Vivo, Brazil's largest mobile telecom operator, will support its ScanLife platform and become the first mobile operator in Latin America to utilize 2D barcodes. Vivo chose Scanbuy's ScanLife platform after an extensive bidding process for a completely integrated solution combining client and server applications. Scanbuy has partnered with EverMobile to deliver the ScanLife solution in Brazil.

Scanbuy's technology uses the camera phone to connect the physical world to the digital world. With Vivo, Scanbuy will provide software for free download on subscribers' handsets as well as the ScanLife Code Registry and Management platform for marketers and content providers to create and manage 2D barcodes. ScanLife will support EZcodes, which are designed for a broader range of camera phones to quickly recognize and process information.

Vivo, a joint venture between Telefonica and Portugal Telecom, is the largest mobile telecommunications operator in the Southern Hemisphere. The company is a leader in the retail market and the corporate segment, and is differentiated by its coverage, style and innovative character of services in voice and data transmission.

"We are very pleased that Vivo has decided to partner with Scanbuy for the first rollout of its kind in Latin America," said Jonathan Bulkeley, Chief Executive Officer of Scanbuy. "Vivo clearly separates themselves by focusing on long-term product innovation. We are also proud to be working with EverMobile, who has played an important role in making this a reality."
