PRAGUE, SYDNEY, and HELSINKI -- In what is becoming a truly global wireless industry; U-Turn Media Group and its partner Slice Wireless have jointly funded the acquisition of Oplayo, a Finnish provider of leading mobile video platforms.

Slice wireless, an international, carrier independent publisher of mobile video and multimedia content, has acquired Oplayo. U-Turn Media Group, who currently provides services for the likes of T-Mobile have deepened their long standing relationship with Slice Wireless by assisting in the acquisition.

U-Turn and Slice are now poised to profit from the inclusion of the Oplayo technology in their on-device-portal technology.

"Oplayo has been an important element in our development and rollout of quality video services enabling our content providers to reach and expand their existing audiences around the world with high quality attractive mobile player technology" said Brad Keeling co-founder of Slice Wireless

"U-Turn recognised that the user experience is becoming the key factor in consumer take up of premium mobile services,' said Dominic Bignall, CEO of U-Turn Media Group. "Oplayo technology will allow us to combine our existing, interactive on-device-portal interface with a smoother, more unified, video delivery feature that will increase handset compatibility."

Olpayo was founded in 1996. Its corporate headquarters are in Helsinki, Finland, with offices in Munich (Germany), Prague (Czech Republic) and Manila (Philippines).

Oplayo's investors included BlueRun Ventures, Zouk Ventures, SAC Participations GmbH, Holtron and others, all of whom are vendors in the sale of the company.

Further announcements on the joint relationship between U-Turn, Slice and Oplayo will be released over the coming months.
