HELSINKI -- Radionet Ltd, a leading supplier of Wireless Hotzone technology, ServiceFactory, the number one European supplier of systems for broadband IP-based service and access management, and the cooperative of Finnish WISP's (Wireless Internet Service Provider) ZONET announced today that they have created one of the largest Wireless Hotzone networks in the world. The ZONET network covers eight cities in Finland with a seamless cloud of Wi-Fi coverage and provides mobile broadband connections to an area of over 400 km2. The network provides seamless mobility within the coverage zone, instant access services to visiting users and roaming between citywide Wi-Fi Hotzones.
"ZONET customers can use their broadband connections in all the cities and spaces covered by the network. Visiting users can also easily connect to the network with flexible payment schemes such as pre-paid vouchers, credit cards and mobile phones," said Janne Wickman, Product Manager, ZONET.
"By extending the range of potential customers from subscribers to visiting users, the network offers additional revenue streams and a very appealing business model. ZONET is uniquely positioned to offer roaming services to both domestic and international Hotspot and Hotzone operators," Wickman continues.
With its coverage zone of 400 km2, ZONET is one of the largest Wi-Fi Hotzone networks in the world. In addition to connecting homes, companies and outdoor areas to the Internet, the network is continuously extended to cover public indoor spaces such as shopping centers, libraries, schools, cafes, and sports arenas.
