STOCKHOLM -- Teligent has been granted a patent in Europe and China regarding its platform technology and the method used for the implementation of telecom network services.

The granted patent refers to a method that makes it possible to create telecom services by separating the service logic execution environment from the network functions. The method has been developed by the company and is used in the Teligent P90/E architecture.

"We believe that there is a great potential for this patent within the telecom sector in general. It will open interesting business opportunities in the long run since we are talking about a technology used in 'Service Networks' within 3G networks and OSA/Parlay," says Ulf Lindstén, President and CEO of Teligent.

Teligent had earlier been granted a patent for its technology in Sweden and the USA. The company plans to continue to work actively to obtain additional patent protection for technologies of its own design and development.

"In the short term we do not count on any licence revenues through the patent, but such possibilities cannot be excluded. What we can count on is the possibility of strengthening our trademark within our business niche. This patent is proof that Teligent is an innovative, leading supplier of core technology and services for next generation networks," concludes Lindstén.
