CAMPBELL, Calif. -- Sylantro Systems Corporation today announced that Tianjin Netcom, a subsidiary of China Network Communications Group Corporation (China Netcom), has deployed Sylantro's application feature server as part of its integrated NGN solution. With this project, Tianjin Netcom now provides IP Centrex services to small and medium-sized enterprises, enabling end users access to conveniently hosted business telecommunication services with customized, localized browser-based portals over China Netcom's broadband IP network. Sylantro's application feature servers were selected after extensive field trials and are deployed in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture, allowing China Netcom to deliver advanced IP Centrex services both in-region and out-of-region. The system design, integration, installation and maintenance are conducted through Alcatel Shanghai Bell.
"China Netcom is one of the largest telecommunications providers in China, and we are very pleased that they have selected Sylantro's applications feature server as a key element of their next-generation network architecture and services," said Pete Bonee, chairman of Sylantro Systems. "With in excess of 100 million total subscribers, and operations both in-region and out of region, China Netcom has the potential to quickly become one of the largest providers of network-hosted business communications services in the world."
China Netcom has utilized the IMS model to extend advanced services beyond mobile communications to the fixed IP network for multimedia and other applications. The Sylantro application feature servers are deployed in the IMS architecture to provide business VoIP services and features such as localized browser-based portals, find me/follow me, company-wide directories, and click-to-call. China Netcom's business users now have an advanced VoIP service with features such as call screening, simultaneous ringing, and other advanced services.
