LUBBOCK, Texas -- Suddenlink today announced its launch of a new service that will allow customers to watch live TV channels and digital video recordings (DVR) on iPod Touch, iPads and iPhones. Lubbock is the first community to get Suddenlink’s new TiVo® Stream service. Suddenlink is the first cable provider in the country to offer TiVo Stream.

Existing customers now can get a TiVo Stream device to add to their home network as a companion to their TiVo Premiere DVR. This add-on device, using an existing TiVo app, is the first of its kind to enable simultaneous viewing of live or recorded shows on up to four mobile devices without interrupting what is currently playing on TV. TiVo Stream will enable customers to stream TV channels to iPod Touch, iPads and iPhones inside the home, and also allow users to transfer many DVR recordings to these devices for viewing outside the home. (Ability to transfer some programs to these devices may be prohibited by the program owners.)

Suddenlink said that Android devices and access to video-on-demand (VOD) content would be added later.
