Siemens integrates OnRelay's MBX server into its HiPath 4000 and 8000 platforms to provide mobile VOIP

ZURICH -- Siemens Switzerland and London-based software vendor OnRelay announce their strategicalliance adding enhanced mobility to Siemens IP Communications. The two companies willwork together to provide their customers with state-of-the-art fixed and mobile networkintegration by integrating the MBX server into HiPath 4000 and 8000 platforms.This collaboration also includes the extension of enterprise telephony features and valueadded services to the mobile network domain in a hosted mobile operator model.

MBX is a software system that closely integrates the corporate phone system and all of itssurrounding business support systems with employees’ mobile phones, offering enterprisesthe market leading mobile integration solution for flexible and mobile workers. The MBXsoftware installs on the mobile phone and the corresponding server software integrates withthe PBX, making the mobile phone operate as an exact duplicate of the employee’s PBXextension.
