Redline Tests With Invenova
Redline and Invenova Corp. advance WiMax-based product testing
June 20, 2005
TORONTO -- Redline Communications, a leading provider of standards-based broadband wireless equipment, and Invenova Corporation, a developer of instrumentation, test and measurement systems for standards-based wireless technologies, today announced that Invenova's products are being used to facilitate the development and testing of Redline's WiMAX-based products.
Invenova's Astro8140 WiMAX Protocol Test and Measurement products have been used extensively throughout the Alpha test phase for Redline's RedMAX family to validate the products' MAC and PHY layers conformance to the IEEE 802.16-2004 standard. The Astro8140 product line was developed specifically for protocol and conformance testing of WiMAX-based products. Early availability of protocol conformance test suites is instrumental to the rapid implementation and successful adoption of any new standard.
"Invenova wanted to work with WiMAX vendors who could really stress our test equipment from day one," said Praveen Kumar, General Manager, Invenova Corporation. "Redline's proven track record, aggressive timeline and extensive coverage of the 802.16-2004 standard expedited this process."
"Using Invenova's test tool has helped Redline to accelerate our product development cycle," said Keith Doucet, Vice President, Marketing and Product Management, Redline Communications Inc. "Having validated our 802.16-2004 MAC layer to this extent gives us extremely high confidence as RedMAX enters the WiMAX certification phase of tests at Cetecom. Invenova has enabled us to reduce the time and expense required to develop our RedMAX products and maintain our WiMAX leadership position."
