HELSINKI -- Sonera's German associated mobile operator, Group 3G, (or Quam by its brand name, Sonera 42.8% Telefónica Móviles 57.2%) will end its GSM/GPRS network service in the night between November 15th and 16th, 2002. Until that date Quam customers can continue to use all services. Quam has negotiated a special offer with T-Mobile, allowing Quam customers to migrate from Quam to T-Mobile, if they so wish. The closing of Quam's mobile network and the related agreement with T-Mobile have no financial effects on Sonera or the write-down of the shares of Group 3G that Sonera made in July.Group 3G was granted an UMTS license in Germany in August 2000.Sonera Corp.
