James Medick, formerly chief information officer for WatchGuard Technologies, joins Qpass as VP of technical operations

SEATTLE -- Qpass Inc., the leading provider of activity management business system software to network operators, announced today the appointment of Jim Medick as the company’s new vice president of technical operations reporting directly to the CEO. Medick will oversee the operations and quality services groups.
Medick joins Qpass with 20 years of technology experience, including 10 years in the wireless industry. He has deep experience in wireless billing systems, having personally managed a $20M billing system replacement at Western Wireless Corporation where he built and grew the IT infrastructure group from the beginning to over 200 people.
Medick was most recently chief information officer for WatchGuard Technologies Inc., and through his career has held director and senior level positions at Exxon Company USA, Tenneco Incorporated, and Contel Corporation.
“Jim knows a lot about building and scaling high quality systems and networks,” said Chase Franklin, president and CEO of Qpass. “He’ll be the driving force to ensure our performance is at world class levels as our business expands with new customers and into new geographies”.
Medick holds an B.A. from Shaw University, and an M.S. in accounting and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Wisconsin. He is also a certified public accountant.
