Paxonet sampling Decathlon, a LAN/WAN/OC-192c PHY for the metro area network

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- OFC 2002 -- Paxonet Communications, Inc., announced the release of the third member of their MetroConnect line of ICs, Decathlon. Currently sampling, Decathlon provides 10 Gigabit Ethernet and OC-192c SONET/SDH transport capabilities. This new device supports 10GigE switching in the LAN and the WAN by supporting both the LAN-PHY and WAN-PHY. Specifically, Decathlon is suited for equipment targeted for ISP networks, such as IDC, PoPs, SAN switches and NICs in high-speed servers, as well as devices found in enterprise, metro, and transport networks, such as routers, switches, and regenerators. "We are the only company that offers a complete UNI-PHY solution in a small package, supporting LAN-PHY, WAN-PHY, and OC-192c functionality.
