STOCKHOLM -- PacketFront, the world leader in open access FTTH technology and next generation broadband aggregation and 42Networks, the leading provider of products and solutions of broadband telephony, have announced a deepened partner alliance agreement, to advance the delivery of triple play telephony solutions.

By integrating PacketFront's industry-leading automated broadband solution with 42Networks' comprehensive line of customer premises equipment (CPE) devices, operators and service providers will be able to cost-effectively offer high-performance telephony services (VoIP or broadband telephony) with other broadband services. 42 Networks has licensed the PacketFront Device Protocol (PFDP) for integration with its CPE product line to optimise the remote monitoring of voice traffic on the network.

"With our joint solutions operators will benefit further from operational cost reductions, as helpdesk and support issues are resolved over the phone, thus eliminating the need for customer-support visits to the home," said Martin Thunman, CEO of PacketFront. "42Networks is one of the leading providers of solutions for VoIP and broadband telephony and this partnership is a powerful example of how a collaborative effort can result in the delivery of a much coveted value proposition for our fast evolving customer base."

"We are very satisfied with our enhanced relationship with PacketFront considering its industry leading position," said Henrik Scharp, CEO of 42Networks. "By enabling support over the phone instead of at the customer premises, and enabling effective monitoring of all triple play services, we are equipping operators with the opportunity to gear up their operations for the 21st century open access market. Voice traffic and telephony services will be a key driver as this technology pushes forward."
