Openwave Adds to Board
Bernard Puckett named chairman, CEO Don Listwin named vice chairman, COO Kevin Kennedy joins

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Openwave Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: OPWV), the worldwide leader of open IP-based communication infrastructure software and applications, today announced changes to its board of directors. Bernard Puckett has been elected chairman of the board. CEO Don Listwin will become vice chairman of the board. Kevin Kennedy, chief operating officer of Openwave has been appointed to the board of directors, replacing John MacFarlane, who resigned from the board on October 11, 2002 after many years of valuable service with Software.com and Openwave. "Bernard's distinguished career coupled with his extensive telecommunications experience strengthens our board. I am pleased to have someone of Bernard's caliber assume an expanded role as board chairman," said Don Listwin, vice chairman, president and CEO of Openwave. "And, on behalf of the board, I thank John MacFarlane for his considerable contributions to Openwave and previously with Software.com over the years."
