CHATSWORTH, Calif. -- Optical Communication Products, Inc. (Nasdaq:OCPI), a manufacturer of fiber optic subsystems and modules for metropolitan area networks and high-speed premises networks, today announced the availability of Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) versions of its Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) Optical Transceivers. First introduced in November 2001, Optical Communication Products, Inc.'s (OCP) SFP transceiver product family with single channel applications allow equipment manufacturers greater flexibility when configuring their equipment. The new CWDM versions allow even more flexibility and enable 8-channel capable applications to satisfy the growing demand for a more cost-effective means of increasing the transmission capacity of metropolitan area networks. "The availability of 8-channel CWDM SFP transceivers means that our customers now have even greater flexibility in upgrading their existing equipment to obtain an eight times increase in bandwidth carried on an existing fiber installation. The upgrade can now be achieved on a hot-pluggable basis," said Muoi V. Tran, OCP's chairman and chief executive officer.Optical Communication Products Inc. (OCPI)
