SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Nova Crystals, Inc., a San Jose-based developer of laser and LED components for fiber-optic data/telecommunications applications, today announced they raised $31.25 million in a Series C round of fund raising. The funding will be used to expand its vertical cavity surface emitting laser diode (VCSEL) chip-making capability and increase capacity, further boosting its reputation as a leading optical networking component company.
"We are most enthusiastic and determined to continue our efforts at taking the optical networking component industry to the next level," said Felix Ejeckam, CEO of Nova Crystals. "Our VCSEL chips will for the first time blur the distinction between the LAN's reach in the enterprise, and the WAN."
