NetHawk M5 masters now also monitoring in the Air Interface
June 18, 2008
OULU, Norway -- NetHawk announced a unique concept for simultaneously monitoring the air interface together with Iub/Abis and Iu/A network interfaces. NetHawk's solution enables testing of all end-to-end signalling scenarios, functional testing of any transaction and quality analysis of the network and network elements. NetHawk M5 analysis supports now GSM, (E)GPRS, UMTS, and HSPA air interface protocols. NetHawk's solution utilizes the industry-winning NetHawk M5 Analyser and a test terminal with M5 software application to capture air interface signalling.
So far end-to-end functional and quality tests have been done with multiple tools from several vendors requiring the tedious integration of the results in various formats. NetHawk M5 now offers an all-in-one solution for effective monitoring and analysing all network interfaces including Air with the same easy-to-use tool. It enables all the powerful NetHawk M5 applications to be used also with air interface analysis. Signalling can be viewed in real time and correlated with all monitored interfaces in NetHawkM5 Protocol Monitoring applications.
The test terminal working as an Air Interface adapter can be also used as a stand-alone solution. NetHawk M5 software application captures and stores signalling between the test terminal and the network to a trace file saved on the test terminal's memory card. The trace file can be merged and synchronised with traces from the network interfaces taken with NetHawk M5.The merged result can be easily analysed and handled with NetHawk M5 software.
