SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Today NetCentrex(TM), the leading enabler of converged voice-video-data networks and next-generation services, and TdSoft, a leading provider of VoIP gateways for carriers, announced an integrated GR-303 solution at the VoIP Possibilities trade show in Dallas, Texas. The joint NetCentrex-TdSoft solution is designed to bridge the gap between innovative softswitch technology and legacy-based access systems.
The combination of a softswitch and a GR303 VoIP gateway enables the operator to benefit from a gradual and continuous migration path. This solution allows carriers to keep their existing GR-303 access infrastructure, including legacy Digital Loop Carriers (DLCs) and Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) phones, while upgrading their core call control platform to VoIP. By starting migration from the central office switch, carriers can enjoy the benefits that VoIP provides, such as low CAPEX and OPEX, increased service creation and revenue generation, and reduced customer churn at a price that is at least 30% lower than any alternative GR-303 solution.
Carriers such as RBOCs, IOCs, and RLECs will be comforted knowing that their GR-303 solution is based on NetCentrex' leading application softswitch for residential telephony, with leading 41% market share for Class 5 Application Servers, according to Frost & Sullivan, and carrier-class deployments that total over 1 million subscribers.
"Our solution is more than just a band-aid for carriers wishing to evolve from legacy technologies," added Alain Fernando-Santana, chief executive officer of NetCentrex, Inc. "It allows telcos to respond to a range of new competitive threats and will be a strong platform for customer churn-reduction and revenue-generation for years to come. In addition, unlike any of our competitors we have proven scalability to the hundreds of thousands of subscribers and a migration path to innovative video services!"
