MetroPhotonics Names US Chief

Former JDS Uniphase exec Bryant Hichwa has been appointed Executive VP, will be heading up MPI's new U.S. subsidiary

SANTA ROSA, Calif., and OTTAWA -- MetroPhotonics Inc., an emerging player in the high-capacity optical component market for metropolitan networks, today announced that Bryant Hichwa has been appointed Executive Vice President. In addition, he will be heading up MPI's new US subsidiary. Most recently a key member of the executive team at JDS Uniphase (NASDAQ: JDSU, TSE: JDU), Dr. Hichwa brings more than 30 years of industry experience and a tremendous record of success to MPI. Dr. Hichwa joined the Optical Coating Laboratory Inc. (OCLI) 13 years ago, after his tenure as professor of physics at Hope College and Indiana University. During his career at OCLI and later at JDS Uniphase, he held several key positions including Director of Corporate Research, Director of Opto-Electronic Product Development, and Vice President Research and Development.
