SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Meru Networks, the leader in workplace mobility infrastructure for wireless voice (VoIP), data and video, today announced David Kelly has joined the company as vice president of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Mr. Kelly comes to Meru from Cisco Systems where he worked for the past eight years, most recently in the role of EMEA sales director for the Linksys division. In that position, he was instrumental in developing and building Cisco’s channel strategy for both distributors and partners across EMEA. Previously, Mr. Kelly spent eight years as EMEA product marketing director and UK channels director at Apple Computer, helping the company establish its international distribution channels.

“Europe is a growth market for us, and David’s track record of success in the industry and expertise across the EMEA markets makes him well suited to building a strong European sales team and helping Meru scale its efforts to meet customer demand,” said Tushar Kothari, senior vice president, worldwide field operations for Meru Networks. “David is a great addition to the Meru executive team.”

“The technology industry is at very exciting crossroads, where wireless is becoming the expected solution to keep up with a highly mobile workforce,” said Mr. Kelly. “For the enterprise, this change represents an incredible opportunity. I’m thrilled to be a part of Meru, whose innovative, 4th-generation WLAN technology is enabling organizations to realize the benefits of pervasive wireless for all of their communications—voice, data and video.”
