May 21, 2002
ARLINGTON, Va. -- SUPERCOMM today announced that the International Softswitch Consortium (ISC) will lead a SUPERDemo exhibit at SUPERCOMM 2002. The ISC will demonstrate a real world deployment of a service provider's Managed IP Centrex application, illustrating how next generation services are earning revenues for customers today. The first demonstration will be given at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, at Booth 24476, Hall B5. The ISC exhibit will identify the elements of the next-generation network using the newly developed ISC reference architecture that will be unveiled at the show. The demo will also highlight the services currently being deployed and marketed by service providers utilizing a softswitch-based architecture. Eleven ISC member companies will contribute to the SUPERDemo, including service providers and vendors that provide softswitches/media gateway controllers, media gateways (signaling, trunking, residential, business), Internet Protocol phones, media servers, application servers and testing equipment. "The SUPERDemo is a great forum for us to give a live demonstration of the ideas represented in our reference architecture and educate the public on how the various softswitch elements function together to enhance providers' networks," said Ike Elliott, Chairman and President of the ISC and Vice President of Global Softswitch Services for Level 3 Communications.
