SAN JOSE, Calif. -- HelloSoft, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP Technologies for mobile devices, announced today the launch of its VoIP technologies for mobile devices based on Symbian OS(TM). Symbian OS is licensed by the world's leading mobile phone manufacturers and, to date, over 110 million Symbian smartphones have shipped worldwide to over 250 major network operators.

HelloSoft has taken one of the first of many steps to enable VoIP technology globally for the next generation of Symbian smartphones. HelloSoft's VoIP technology, HelloDual-Mode(TM), on Symbian OS will allow users to experience award winning power-efficient and fully-featured multi-mode applications.

"As VoIP technology is becoming more prevalent in day to day life, businesses are not the only ones benefiting from it; more and more consumers are turning to VoIP to keep in touch with friends and family from their home PCs," said Mike Whittingham, Vice President, ecosystem development, Symbian. "HelloDual-Mode on Symbian OS will help handset manufacturers bring the VoIP PC experience to mass market mobile phone users more easily and in a shorter time frame."

"With VoIP technologies rapidly changing the mobile device landscape, HelloSoft is on the forefront of these technologies by continually delivering the most optimized VoIP for mobile devices," said Ron Victor, HelloSoft's General Manager of Marketing and Business Development. "HelloDual-Mode(TM) now enables handset manufacturers targeting the mass market to build multi-mode handsets based on Symbian OS."
