MILPITAS, Calif. -- GRIC Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: GRIC), a leading provider of mobile office communications solutions, today announced that the total number of Wi-Fi and Ethernet access locations in the GRIC TierOne Network(tm) has topped the 2,000 mark. Most of the access points are located where business travelers need them most, specifically: 185 access locations in 41 airports; 1,400 access locations in 860 hotels; and 19 access locations in 15 convention centers. Of the 2,132 access locations, nearly 1,600 are wireless locations in 14 countries, and more than 500 are hotel Ethernet locations.

"Wi-Fi adds a new dimension to the experience of our traveling executives and other mobile professionals," said Bill Edgar, IS Director, Matsushita Avionics Corp. "The ability to connect securely by the fastest means possible is key to assuring that our mobile professionals remain as productive as possible when they're working away from their offices."

"GRIC began building its Wi-Fi network more than two years ago, long before the Wi-Fi revolution began to take hold, and they continue to provide substantial leadership in Wi-Fi access," said Amy Cravens, Wi-Fi analyst for In-Stat/MDR. "By targeting network-building efforts on secure locations that meet the demands of mobile professionals, GRIC has created a leading, global enterprise-compatible Wi-Fi/Ethernet network for the industry."

"The promise of Wi-Fi lies in its ability to deliver ubiquitous, high-speed access. A better remote access experience translates into increased efficiency for mobile professionals, and subsequently into significant productivity gains for our enterprise customers. For that reason, we are seeing increasing numbers of existing and new customers add Wi-Fi capabilities to their GRIC MobileOffice services," said Bharat Davé, GRIC President and Chief Executive Officer. "Enterprises all over the world are increasingly focusing on improving productivity. We are excited that enterprises are coming to GRIC to ensure that their remote workforces can connect and remain productive anytime, from anywhere."
