EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN), a leading provider of communications services for multinationals, today announced that is has been awarded a contract by Gearbulk, Inc., a leading international shipping company, to manage its global network. Under the terms of the agreement, Infonet will provide Gearbulk with MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) enabled IP VPN Secure, Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) and Managed Firewall Services in support of 25 locations in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
After a recent search of global communications providers, Gearbulk chose Infonet as its network partner, highlighting Infonet's ability to provide a resilient and high performing network, complemented by stringent service level agreements (SLAs). "We've been consistently impressed with Infonet's understanding of the challenges we face as a global business, and our organization's need for a reliable communications network," said Ramon Ferrer, vice president of Information Technology, Gearbulk. "We chose Infonet's IP VPN Secure because it gives us that reliable service, while the stringent and flexible service level agreements give us the capability to benchmark the performance of the network, providing us with a stable platform from which to roll out our applications."
"Gearbulk's decision to choose Infonet for its global network is a reflection of our continuing strength in designing, delivering and managing IP infrastructures for multinational shipping organizations," said Robert Cavan, managing director of Infonet UK. "We are very pleased to begin this relationship with Gearbulk, and look forward to providing them with innovative communications services in support of their current and future needs."
