Fiberxon launches single fiber bi-directional SFP transceivers for ONU and OLT applications, supporting 100 to 155.520 Mbit/s data rates
February 2, 2004
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Fiberxon Inc., a manufacturer of fiber optic modules and subsystems, introduced two single fiber bi-directional SFP transceivers, FTM-9301S-S20i and FTM-9501S-S20i for use in point-to-point access networks. The FTM-9301S-S20i is designed for ONU, and FTM-9501S-S20i is for OLT applications .
These two transceivers, support data rates in the range of 100~155.520Mbps, enable full-duplex communication over a single optical fiber at a distance of up to 20km, dramatically reducing network infrastructure costs. They are mechanically compliant with the SFP Multi Source Agreement (MSA) form factor and can operate across industrial temperature range. The “hot pluggable” feature of these modules allow greater flexibility in system configuration and eliminate system downtime during upgrade and maintenance.
