ROSELAND, N.J. -- Expand Networks, leader in bandwidth optimization technology today announced that GeoLogistics Corporation, a global integrated logistics and transportation management services provider has selected its ACCELERATORs to enable faster deployment of GUI-based applications for managing its supply chain operations by freeing up more than 400% available WAN capacity. GeoLogistics, with annual revenues in excess of $1 billion, provides integrated logistics services including transportation management, freight-forwarding and customs brokerage, warehousing, time-definite distribution, project cargo management, consulting and supply chain management. Millions of dollars worth of inventory are constantly in transit through GeoLogistics' transportation routes - spanning over 140 countries. Geo-Logistics' customers need to know the location of their inventory, as well as arrival and departure information at all times. In addition, each customer has unique needs for tracking this data at all points throughout the supply chain, such as production of goods, shipment tracking, order and inventory management, warehousing and distribution. Hence, in order to monitor, track and access vital information across its extensive supply chain, GeoLogistics decided to migrate to a new GUI-based operations management system in a Citrix environment. "We were trying to implement new GUI-based operations management applications that would help us accelerate cycle times, improve transportation efficiency at a lower cost, while reducing our inventory management costs. However, these new applications proved to consume more WAN resources than the original 5250 applications, and many of our offices needed an immediate capacity boost before we could complete the deployment" said Morey Straus, Network Manager for GeoLogistics Corporation.
