BRYAN, Texas -- Dominion Lasercom, Inc. (DLI), showing at the WCA conference in Washington, DCthis week, has announced the release of their next generation FSO solutions.

Adding to the already successful DAViD® (Digital Audio Video infrared Data) productline, the new DLITM hardware will now be able to accommodate both IP and TDMAinterfaces from 10Mbps to Gigabit Ethernet as well as from multiple DS1 circuits to OC3speeds. The products also incorporate the latest active alignment technology that givesstronger link budgets for longer distances and higher circuit reliability.

"In order to overcome some of the critical challenges of FSO, we had to engineer theproduct to be simple and inexpensive to install," said David Panak, President and cofounderof Dominion Lasercom, Inc. "We took a hard look at issues such as electricalutility connections, antenna form factors, and deployment costs, and then applied ‘bestof-breed’ engineering practices which resulted in either the minimization or completeelimination of the complexities usually associated with competing FSO products."

The net impact of this innovation is that both enterprise and public network providers cannow build or extend high-speed networks not only in a matter of hours but also at afraction of the cost of any other broadband technology. The DLITM technology has a verysmall footprint, does not require an outdoor or rooftop utility connection and can beinstalled almost anywhere. The entire system is small and light enough to be transportedin a single suitcase as a rapid disaster recovery kit.

The first field deployment of Gigabit Ethernet DLITM technology is scheduled for the endof July with FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis. "The FedExInstitute of Technology is a perfect test facility to participate in the launch of the newGigabit Ethernet product by Dominion Lasercom," said Jim Phillips, Chairman andExecutive Director of the Institute. "The FedEx Institute collaborates with leadingcorporations and research organizations across the country and we are excited to beta testthis innovative product."
