Perry Quan steps down as president at mobile infrastructure software firm Contec; CEO Don Lay will assume the title of president and CEO

VANCOUVER -- Contec Innovations (TSX-V: BUZ), a provider of mobile infrastructure software, today announced that Perry Quan has stepped down as President of the Company. He will remain a director of the Company. The departure of Mr. Quan follows Contec’s decision to focus on emerging opportunities including BUZmob™, the company’s Internet-based mobile publishing service. Don Lay, CEO, will assume the title of President & CEO effective immediately.

“I want to recognize and thank Perry for his vision and leadership in both technology development and market entry efforts since the Company’s founding,” said Don Lay, CEO. “Perry led our business efforts to commercialize Hornet and get us live systems deployed with China Mobile”, he added.

Laurie Wallace, currently a director of Contec, has been appointed Chairman of the Board. Mr. Wallace acts as a consultant and advisor for a number of emerging technology companies and venture capital firms. He sits on the board of Dyaptive Systems Inc. and is Chairman of EQO Communications Inc.

Mr. Wallace, a proven entrepreneur, has successfully co-founded, managed and sold two technology companies. In 1995, he co-founded Datum Telegraphic and served as President and CEO until its sale in 2000 to PMC-Sierra. In 2005, he co-founded FlyOver Entertainment which he managed and subsequently sold in 2006 to Vivendi.
