Appoints Rafael Torres as chief financial officer and Byron Trop as executive vice president of sales and marketing

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Capella, Inc., a privately-held firm selling optical switching subsystems, today announced that it has appointed Rafael Torres as chief financial officer and Byron Trop as executive vice president of sales and marketing.
Mr. Torres joins Capella from Power Integrations Inc., where he scaled the company's revenue to over $200 million and market capitalization to $1 billion. Mr. Torres also was CFO for PLX Technology, Inc. He is a graduate of Santa Clara University.
Mr. Trop joins Capella from Santur Corporation where he built sales from zero to become the largest tunable laser company in the world. Prior to Santur, Mr. Trop was head of sales for Bookham Technology, now Oclaro, Inc., where he grew revenue ten-fold in 4 years. Mr. Trop is a graduate of The US Naval Academy and has an MBA from the University of Colorado.
