SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Big Bear Networks, a technology company bringing intelligence into the Optical/Electrical interface for enterprise, metro and carrier networks, today announced the hiring of industry veteran Richard Otsuka as vice president of sales.

Otsuka brings more than 25 years of experience in sales and sales management with semiconductor technologies to Big Bear. He joins the company from SiberCore Technologies, where he was vice president of sales for five years and is credited with establishing a worldwide sales force that delivered more than 80 design wins with 30 customers, many in the Tier 1 category. He previously held management positions with companies such as Clear Logic, Future Electronics, Level One and Siliconix after beginning his career with IBM.

“Richard Otsuka is an outstanding addition to our management team,” said Mark Thompson, president and CEO of Big Bear Networks. “His successful track record of driving new business with leading edge datacom customers is an excellent fit for us, and his efforts will be key to the wide deployment of our innovative technology, which is dramatically reducing the complexities of high speed optical services in both enterprise and carrier environments.”
