Mobile operator installed 328 base stations in 2006 to extend network coverage

BAKU, Azerbijan -- During 2006 “Azercell Telecom” JV has successfully reached goal on expanding the field of its coverage and provide high-quality telecommunication services in every corner of our country.

During December 2006 the company installed 30 more radio base stations in Baku and regions of Azerbaijan. 23 of them are located in Baku and the remaining 7 ones in Absheron, Sumgait, Khanlar, Akstafa, Gabala, Shamkir and Ali-Bayramly.

In order to provide qualitative communication in every corner of the country to its subscribers, which number has been constantly growing, “Azercell” increased number of its stations. During 2006 the operator has installed 328 stations in various regions of the republic. Until now “Azercell” has installed 2 Home Location Registers, 13 Base Stations Controller Systems, 16 Mobile Services Switching Centers and 1,078 base radio stations.
