DUBLIN -- Alatto Technologies today announced the release of full Video MMS support in its Memphis platform. Using Alatto's Memphis platform, Mobile Operators can provide push and pull services to subscribers using video and audio clips. Alatto provides a range of MMS video content services including football goals, music videos and news bulletins.

"Using Alatto's technology, Video MMS is very easy to use and allows Mobile Operators, content providers and end users to create high impact, ready-to-run Video MMS in a few button presses", said Neil Flanagan, CEO of Alatto. "We see the ability to send Video Messages and Video subscription content as a key revenue stream for Mobile Operators. An added benefit is our technology works fully on existing CSD and GPRS networks - there's no need for UMTS. We are also mindful of digital rights management needs and our MMS Video fully integrates with our award winning DRM system."

Getting Video to work on mobile handsets has been a complex process, due to bandwidth requirements, evolving video standards, handset limitations and patent issues. Alatto's Memphis platform uses proprietary video and audio trans-coding of video content to ensure efficient and effective use of network and handset capabilities, supporting all popular video and audio formats.

Alatto's Video MMS module is provided as a standard part of the Memphis MMS platform. Current Memphis customers include Vodafone.
